My last blog post was very Taylor Swift-ish. I took a boy who made me cry and wrote a blog post on him (I will forever dread running into him and his girlfriend in our small, small town but do it for the blog, am I right?).
While I was typing that post, I sipped a Kiskadee’s coffee, put in my headphones, and listened to every Taylor Swift song. I couldn’t help thinking of how each song reminded me of a boy in my life.
Here are the ten songs that will take you down memory lane and describe all the guys you’ve ever dated.
1. The Boy You Had Your First Date With.
Press Play on “Today Was A Fairytale“
Your first date is innocent, nerve wrecking, and magical. It’s hard not to smile and fall in lust with the boy who takes you on your first date.
The Line That Summarizes The First Date Boy: “But can you feel this magic in the air? It must have been the way you kissed me / Fell in love when I saw you standing there, It must have been the way / Today was a fairytale”
2.The Bad Boy.
Press Play on “I Knew You Were Trouble”
We’ve all been there. We have met that hot guy who makes our knees weak but also definitely makes every other girls knees weak. There is a chance that this guy is hot, charming, witty, and 100% emotionally unavailable. The moment you met him you probably knew he was going to hurt you but I mean that’s what makes it more fun, am I right?
The Line That Summarizes the Bad Boy: “I guess you didn’t care, and I guess I liked that
And when I fell hard you took a step back
Without me, without me, without me”
3. The Summer Fling.
Press Play on “Come Back, Be Here“
Sandy toes, beachy waves, and a summer romance you will always remember. He stole your heart in the warmer months and even thought you knew he would eventually leave as the leaves started to change you couldn’t stop the feelings from forming.
The Line That Summarizes the Summer Fling: “Stumbled through the long goodbye, One last kiss, then catch your flight, Right when I was just about to fall
I told myself, “Don’t get attached,” But in my mind I play it back,
Spinning faster than the plane that took you…
And this is when the feeling sinks in, I don’t wanna miss you like this,
Come back… be here, come back… be here.”
4. The Perfect Guy That Has a Girlfriend.
Press Play on “You Belong with Me“
How can he not realize you guys are the perfect pair? You are so obviously better for him than his current girlfriend. We get it, she’s pretty but you’re everything else that is the perfect match for him.
The Line That Summarizes The Perfect Guy That Has a Girlfriend: “So, why can’t you see
You belong with me.”
5. The Ex That Doesn’t Get It’s Over.
Press Play on “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together“
We have all had an ex that just keeps trying to get back with you.
The Line That Summarizes The Ex Who Doesn’t Get It’s Over: “Ooh, you called me up again tonight But ooh, this time I’m telling you, I’m telling you We are never, ever, ever getting back together “
6. The Flaky Boy.
Press Play on “The Moment I Knew“
You always get your hopes that this guy will show but no matter what he seems to have something better to do.
The Line That Summarizes The Flaky Boy: “I try not to fall apart, And the sinking feeling starts, As I say hopelessly, “He said he’d be here.”
7. The Boy Who You Know You Need To Stay Away From.
Press Play on “I Almost Do“
It’s hard, we all have one of those boys. He has broken your heart numerous times. You know for your own sanity you need to stay away but you still love him so it’s so hard to.
The Line That Summarizes The Boy Who Who You Need To Stay Away From: “I bet you think I either moved on or hate you ‘Cause each time you reach out there’s no reply. I bet it never ever occurred to you that I can’t say “Hello” to you And risk another goodbye.”
8. The Cute Boy From The Bar.
Press Play on “Enchanted“
Okay, let’s be real we don’t meet our soul mates at the bar but sometimes it feels like we did. I don’t know if it’s the playful conversation or the alcohol but we turn into the heart eye emoji when we see cute boys on a night out.
The Line That Summarizes The Cute Boy From The Bar: “The playful conversation starts Counter all your quick remarks Like passing notes in secrecy And it was enchanting to meet you All I can say is I was enchanted to meet you.”
9. The F*ck Boy With A Girlfriend.
Press Play on “Girl at Home“
Ugh, does he seriously think you’re dumb enough to fall for his coy smile? You can see him texting his girlfriend during the pauses of your conversation.
The Line That Summarizes The F*ck Boy With A Girlfriend: “I said don’t look at me, you’ve got a girl at home and everybody knows that”
10. The Cheater.
Press Play on “You Should’ve Said No”
The boy that was stupid enough to risk what you had and hooked up with another girl behind your back. Give him the finger and jam out to this song,
The Line That Summarizes The Cheater: “You should’ve said no and baby you might still have me.”
11. The Boy After A Bad Relationship.
Press Play on “Begin Again“
After a terrible relationship there is that boy who reminds you how horrible your last relationship was. He’s cute, he’s sweet, he is everything your ex wasn’t.
The Line That Summarizes The Boy That Reminds You What Love is: “I’ve been spending the last eight months Thinking all love ever does is break and burn and end But on a Wednesday in a cafe I watched it begin again”
12. The One Who Got Away.
Press Play on “I Wish You Would“
Sometimes you break up with someone and realize, you’ll always wonder what could’ve/should’ve happened if you just solved that one last fight.
The Line That Summarizes The One Who Got Away: I wish you would come back, Wish I never hung up the phone like I did. And I wish you knew that I’ll never forget you as long as I live.
13. The One
Press Play on “Mine“
He’s the boy you know you’ll end up with. He is the one that made dating all the other ones worth it.
The Line That Summarizes The One: “Flash forward and we’re taking on the world together, And there’s a drawer of my things at your place. You learn my secrets and you figure out why I’m guarded, You say we’ll never make my parents’ mistakes.”
